Communication plays an important role on the road of success when we work with other people.
Dieting or losing weight with the help of nutritionist or personal trainer during the course can also served as an example.
I remembered that when I first decided to have a weight-loss, I tried to work things out by myself.
However, the result was much less effective than working with T C.
During the whole course of personal training, T.C was very helpful, not only in terms of giving instructions, but also in the way he communicated with me.
He always asked me about my physical conditions, and tried his best to push me as hard as possible within my limit, but not beyond. In additions, he is always ready to discuss with me about my health issues and my eating habits, and my lifestyle, in order to modify the training sessions that suit me the best. Besides, in my point of view, losing weight is not only a body training, but is also a mental training for the clients, hence, people’s supports and encouragements are very important.
Some people give up in midway because they are unable to get supports from people around them, especially at times when they feel very tired and frustrated.
In my case, T.C gives me a lot of encouragements and advices to help me keep moving towards my target. I always believe that a good client-trainer relationship can help a lot in a positive way, and T.C. had done a great job on this.
I am sure that T.C’s help is one of the important keys to my success in losing weight.

"I lost 15kg in 150 days..."
My name is Shari Teoh. I had been overweight for the most part of my life and struggled through my teenage years. In high school, I had issues with weight, bullies, and my health and was constantly binge eating. I had no self-esteem then. Eventually I weighed 90 kg and I stopped weighing myself and feeling ashamed how I got to such a state. I felt neither healthy nor energized and had always woke up with a headache. It got to the point where I could not remember when was the last time I felt happy and comfortable with the way I look. I was sick and tired of feeling the way I felt.
In 2006, I decided to take actions and had a New Year resolution and determined to stick to it. I started to engage in more physical activities such as taking the stairs instead of the lift and working on my eating habits. I lost 15-20 kg after improving my eating habits. However, I was still uncomfortable with the way my body looks as I was still overweight.
In mid February 2007, I joined a gym but only had zero knowledge on exercising to lose weight. So I got myself a personal trainer to help me achieve my New Year resolution. My trainer was nice but gave me no direction in the path I had set. There were no goals set and I did not learn much in terms of training from the sessions and I did not lose any weight at all. Therefore I decided to stop my personal training and went on my own with my limited knowledge on exercise. I barely lasted 2 minutes on the cross-trainer. But I persisted and went to the gym everyday but started binge eating again at night. I did not understand what I was doing in the gym and how hard it would actually be to lose weight. I had no plans and was just hoping that I would lose weight with whatever I am doing in the gym.
Since joining the gym for 6 months, I did everything I could to lose weight but I was still stuck at about 75 kg. It has been extremely frustrating period for me with no changes to my body despite all the hard work I put in. Then a trainer approached me when he saw that I was clearly clueless about I was doing. He offered advice on my training and gave me a trial session. I could feel his genuine interest in helping me achieved my goal and he became my personal trainer. We set goals that were realistic and he took the extra time to answer any questions that I had pertaining to my training. In the first 12 weeks of training with him, I lost 10kg and 11.5% of bodyfat. It is not just about weight loss but it is fat loss and I was looking so much more toner. I took everything he said into account and I can’t thank TC enough on how he has changed my life forever.
Right from the beginning, TC was determined to help me succeed which was a major factor that I put in extra effort to follow his plan. He explained the things he got me to do and how they would benefit me. He works me very hard to the best of my ability although I never felt it was hard work. Instead, I always felt I was having fun as he always made the sessions enjoyable. He empowered me by getting me to do the things that I never thought I could do such as push up and body weight pull ups. Trust me it really feels good to be able to do full bodyweight pushups and pull ups. TC knows my limits but know when to challenge me to a new level.
Today I am a personal trainer at Murray St. Fitness First Australia helping others getting in their best shape of their life. It has been unbelievable as this was unthinkable as I was very low in self-confidence and self-esteem. Without all the things that I had achieved, I could never come this far.
